Mariana and Mafalda, sisters and founders of Misto. We are two designers with a strong desire to create and innovate, but with an even greater environmental concern.

We had been dreaming for a long time of being able to work together and merge the two types of design (industrial & fashion). Before getting here, it was a long process of discovery, brainstorming, trial and error, you name it... Until, after two years, confident in the conclusion we reached, we created Misto, which turned out to be the perfect combination of all our desires and concerns.

Mariana is trained in industrial design and has since worked not only with product design but also in the field of graphic design. She has always been focused on waste, product longevity, and purpose. Everything she does has a meaning, a reason to exist. She likes to explore new techniques, experiment, and use unconventional materials to create products, such as food waste, material reuse, among others.

Mafalda studied Fashion Design and ended up specializing in accessories, now working almost exclusively in that area. Although she enjoys what she does, something that greatly concerns her in her field is fast fashion because it is an industry that still has a long way to go in terms of sustainability and real environmental concern. Over the years, she has been working and developing a special interest in materials from production deadstock and non-recyclable materials.
